Kim had not expected the speed, nor the skill. She would have heard of him, she made it a point to know who could really fight and who could not. She knew Hayden, he wasn't this good. He had always been decent but this, he was reading her. She could see it in his eyes, the way he watched and predicted her movements. This became even more evident when the pain shot through her elbow and her cheeks hit the mat below them. Kim swallowed any pride she had because now, of all things A MAN had her face down on the mat.

Getting back to her feet she looked right at Hayden and rolled her shoulder, making sure he hadn't wrenched anything. "You have been practicing." She commented her own eyes showing the rage at the situation, but also the tempered control she had. The prideful woman was gone now, and she was much more serious. Finally she closed her dark eyes and exhaled softly, allowing her shoulders to drop.

Kim moved in quick, but this was different, there was more thought and less brute force than before. She slipped in slightly from the right, throwing a punch from the right, but it was a feint. A hard kick came from the left once feint did it's job, she was determined to match, shot for shot.

Oh, this was far too much fun! Azazel had not had this much fun simply sparring in years. Quite frankly, anyone on the opposing end of his wraith ended up dead of a pile of ash, it was not often that Azazel even had the chance to fight someone without the intent of killing them. Of course, this did not rule out the possibility of wiping this miserable human from his planet, the fierce determination in her eyes and her anger at him gave him joy than not much else could. Smirking as the girl got to her feet, Azazel readied himself for her to attack. At her comment, his grin only widened.

”Thanks for noticing,” he replied with a mischievous glint in his brown eyes as he watched her. Azazel stood his ground as the girl moved in to strike at his right, but quick eyes and superhuman reflexed knew that this was a feint. As Kim quickly changed direction to aim for his left with a kick, Azazel easily dodged the attack, his body bending in such a way that was hardly natural. Azazel was gifted with a super flexible skeleton allowing him to twist his body within his limits, along with supernatural reflexes made him quite a foe to fight against. Originally, the warlord had not planned on using his abilities, but were his physical attributes really considered to be powers when it was simply his ancient biology?

Once Azazel caught the look on Kim’s face, he could not help but laugh. It was not a friendly laugh, and there was definitely something more sinistair lingering there. Stepping forward towards the girl, stolen brown eyes leaked gold as he took another step towards her. Never underestimate your opponents,” Azazel purred, his usual demonic undertones seeping through into his words as the whites of his eyes clouded black. He was fully aware that there were cameras in the training room, sharp eyes had caught them as they entered, but silly little cameras and the MRD with their silly little guns did not frighten Azazel.

Let them come.

Anyone who would enter this room would not leave with their heads still attached. Sparring was fun and all, but after revealing himself to not be Agent Hayden it was time for the real entertainment to begin.

To say the look on Kim's face was one of shock was a complete understatement. When Hayden bent backwards in an unnatural way, Kim fully expected retaliation. Following through into a guarded stance however when she spun to face him again, there not a man in front of her. It was a demon. Those eye's bored into her soul, she instantly leaped backwards towards where her Jingam lay on the shelf. "Mutant!" She shouted as if the camera's hadn't caught the display that was a horror movie writer's wet dream.

Kim pulled herself into a different stance while moving towards the sword. "Where is Agent Hayden? Beast!" She said, her eyes flaring along with her nostrils. Azazel would see the attack coming but it was different than before. She was striking with full intent, the step into him would give everything away that strong arm that she clearly used to wield her sword came in hard and fast for a stiff elbow.

Kim knew she would do better with her blade, but she couldn't risk turning her back on him, now that he had revealed himself she knew he was more likely to go for a kill. The fact he hadn't sooner, had the well trained woman perplexed, but an enemy showing mercy was her opportunity.

Azazel’s smirk only widened at the girl’s reaction, oh how it brought him such amusement when tiny humans tried to intimidate him. ”Very well spotted, my dear,” the ancient mutant replied with a smile that could kill, his fangs elongating as he spoke. It only amused him further when Kim changed her stance in preparation to attack, reaching for her sword. With reflexes as fast as an arrow, Azazel had teleported across the room, snatched the sword, and then returned to original position. Holding the sword so that the light shone on its blade, Azazel examined it. The blade was held against the palm of his hand, and yet no cut appeared from its sharp edges. ”You have quite a nice sword, it would be a beautiful addition to my collection,” he said, demonic undertones even more apparent in his voice now.

”Agent Dunham is dead. The boy was weak and did not put up much of a fight,” Azazel responded, rather to the point as he smirked some more, gently tossing the blade back to its owner. ”But I am almost certain that you will be far more entertaining,” he added with a sneer, his façade melting away to reveal his true form in all his magnificent glory. Azazel did not care if he was seen on camera, nor did it matter if a small army with their guns were sent in to try and take him down. There was hardly anything alive on this Earth that could match Azazel, except perhaps the witch but for all intents and purposes they were on the same side. Drawing from Brimstone, his two favoured short swords materialised from smoke and ash into his hands which he held by his side, golden eyes glaring at the woman before him.

Even though Azazel doubted she would be much of a challenge, it had been some time since he had duelled against someone. His people knew better than to face their warlord and king in armed combat, but this girl was naïve. If she did survive this day, perhaps Azazel would take her back to Brimstone for his people to hunt, it would give them something interesting to do.

Kim froze, when he took the sword before she could even really see him move, she knew it was more of his mutant power. She turned to watch him examine the blade, on the outside she was like stone, as if not caring for the fate of the weapon she carried with her at all times, the only reminder of her former lover and former life, the weight that tied them together. But inside it was all panic, panic that was trying to be over written by strategy, she had to find a way to hold off this fiend until back up arrived. Kim was a prideful woman, she she wasn't stupid, it was very, very clear she was out matched here. When the sword was tossed her hand shoot out grabbing the hilt.

She twirled the blade wistfully in her hand returning it to it's sheath. Moving to take her position opposite him, her left arm gripped the sheath, while the right arm stayed at her side. She looked over him, reading his movement and stance. Two swords...this mutant was very confident as well, Kim was sure he could back it up. Her best chance was basic combat, she was by no stretch of the term a sword master, but she knew the blade well enough to hold her own...if she where fighting a normal opponent. Instead of...whatever the red devil across from her was, the tail caught her eye, she didn't like the way it flicked and moved. It meant more she would have to watch for. She exhaled slowly, closing her eyes. Her feet spread apart into a wider stance.

Kim knew she wasn't fast enough so misdirection was her motive, she rushed in, drawing her blade and moving in an upward and outward angle to attempt to slash the corner of his face but more so to get his left swords attention, following the slash was a forward thrust of the Sheath. She tried to strike him with the item right in the gut, it was position so she could use it to block the other sword if need be. She was much calmer now, all her pride, and rage had fallen away.

Azazel smirked at the girl’s defiance, fangs gleaming as golden eyes watched her as she twirled her sword and slipped it back into the sheath on her back. As the agent rushed forward to try and cut the side of his face, Azazel effortlessly tilted his head slightly to avoid the blade. Eyes flicking to watch her stance, Azazel did not make a move, standing in a relaxed fashion and not even attempting to use his swords to block. When the girl thrust her sword forward to catch him in the gut, Azazel sidestepped easily before brining his right blade towards her neck.

Ever so gently, Azazel allowed his blade to make the tiniest of incisions on her neck, before he vanished in a cloud of smoke. His manic laughter could be heard around the room for a moment, before the demon reappeared behind her, crossing his swords against her neck. It would be so easy to just kill her now, but taunting this supposed swordswoman was just too much fun. Azazel would surely grow bored soon, but for now he was content. He held his blades for a moment, before pulling them away from her flesh and twisting again to avoid her strikes, teleporting a few metres away and facing her. Azazel raised one of his swords and pointed it at her heart.

”Impressive display, human, but you will have to try harder than that,” he growled, prehensile tail flicking in anticipation like a predator waiting to pounce. If Kim had any ounce of intelligence, she would know by now that Azazel was playing with her like a cat does a mouse. At least she was trying to put up a fight. With a snarl, Azazel lunged forward, bringing both swords with him and slashing downwards at his prey.

Of course he could see the strike coming, she figured he had some kind of pre cog ability, however blade to her throat made her halt entirely. It was impressive for a human to stop dead in their tracks mid motion, she held in place head tilted back trying to move the blade as far from her neck as possible. But the smoke threw her off, her dark eyes going wide when she realized how truly screwed she was...he could teleport. All this time and he could teleport. He could have killed her at any second from the moment she met him.

He moved back and away making some snide comment about how she was decent for a human or some such. She hated his smug attitude for 3 reasons. First being that she was sure he hadn't trained all that much, gaining his ability through natural talent of his mutation, which lead to the second point of mocking someone who worked so hard for their skill, when he had none, and third...he was a man...mocking her.

He came faster than she figured he would, bringing up the sheath to block both blade she was sure she'd have to get it repaired, she went for a thrust again, but this time expected him to teleport behind again and dropped the sword bringing her hand back for an elbow to where she figured his face was. She just had to get a hold of him. She was sure she could win if she could just catch this cockroach.

Azazel smirked, bearing his fangs as golden eyes glared at the human before him. It was amusing how determined she was, thinking that she could defeat one such as he. The hate in her obsidian eyes was pitiful, really. The world had seemingly forgotten about the Neyaphem. Azazel would made them remember the fires of Hell. This was all a game to him – a cat playing with a mouse – but his boredom was inevitable. His lip curled in a sinister grin as he heard the whispers of her thoughts, golden eyes glinting as his tail flicked behind him.

"You think I have no skill? You wound me, girl,” Azazel purred, launching himself at her with both blades to strike at her. The demon’s glowing eyes watched as she pulled up her sheath to block, Azazel hitting it with his shortswords at full strength. Azazel did not have any abilities that increased his strength, but he was tall and muscular, with broad shoulders and a body that was not limited to expected human movement. He had been around humans long enough to see talent, but it was nothing compared to the millenia of experience that Azazel had when it came to the art of combat.

As Kim anticipated his next move, Azazel vanished in shadow, although he did not appear behind her when she hit nothing. His maniacal laughter could be heard in whispers, surrounding Kim before he materialised before her, fangs bared. Well, this has been fun, but I grow tired of this game,” Azazel said, standing tall as he sheathed his swords. His eyes flashed mischievously as he studied the young woman’s face. It would be so incredibly easy to kill her where she stood, but then what was the point? It would be much more enjoyable to make her scream, but some invisible held him back.

No, Kim had a larger role to play in this story. While Azazel was practically itching for a good fight, barely anyone on Earth was worthy of his prowess and skill. Cutting down the weak left and right became quite tiresome after so many years.

With one last laugh, Azazel vanished as smoke swirled around him. It was as if the King of Neyphem had never been there at all.

// End. //
