The doctor didn't get out much these days; the consistent itching of his fur suddenly returning after a long hiatus without caused much discomfort, tempting even the calm, collected mind of the one whose appearance once gave way to his code name. He didn't recall it doing so when he was a younger man, likely because it all grew in at once and not as gradual as it was now.To take his mind off of things he spent his days walking the grounds, both inside and out, rediscovering nooks and crannies in which to disappear (or to find the occasional student attempting to do so). The lake-house, once occupied by Cain Marko, had been vacated unexpectedly in the middle of the night this past winter, became a favorite escape for Henry, giving him the perfect getaway to turn classical music up and escape into a book without the occasional disruption of students and his fellow X-Men.This day found him in a much more sociable mood, roaming the main building and greeting students as he passed. His ears would occasionally hear gossip, typical teenage woes of love and loss, bringing him to a chuckle. "Oh, to be young and in love again..." he thought to himself. One door, in the guest wing, was different. Sharp, short words were spoken, hushed but loud enough for him to hear clearly as he paused just short of the door; a sudden whiff of hormones found themselves reaching the doctor's nostril. Shortening his breath, Henry focused his hearing on the voices, gritting his teeth once he realized which the male belonged to. The female voice took longer to recognize, as he hadn't had the extended pleasure of meeting the young woman it was attached to, but when the name came to him his jaw clenched even more. Nostrils flaring, he wished to burst in and break up whatever was going on. He instead found himself rushing quickly back to his office to think about the best way to approach the situation. He thought about discussing things with the two headmasters, which no doubt would result in the removal of Mr. Weylyn from the grounds and possible suspension of the Ms. Davenport. Always one to forgive and move on, he chose to handle the situation himself at a reasonable time and location.Keeping his eyes out for patterned movements over the next several days, he made mental notes of locations he could pull them aside to talk to them; finding the ideal location, Henry kept to the area until they walked by. Using the 'ole books dropping technique, he managed to stop them in their tracks. "Thank you Kyler, not sure how I wasn't able to hold onto that...I'm usually much more aware." Looking over at Lily, he gave a grin. "Funny you two should come by here, there's something I need to discuss with the both of you, if you've the time."

Kyler Weylyn

Sunday mornings used to be spent rather quietly around his apartment, checking emails on his laptop and reading whatever book happened to be at the top of his to-read pile that lived on his coffee table. Lately, though, the to-read pile wasn’t getting as much attention as it typically got, and he’d started checking emails on the go on his phone. Sunday mornings had become a time that he and Lily could roam about the school grounds without really having to worry about bumping into anyone. And even if they did, it was a powers training session. That’s what it was at the core, and that’s what it had always been. Sundays were just quieter than other days.

They’d already been up for hours, out on the grounds. There were tons of people who wished they could see the world through a different pair of eyes, and Kyler and Lily had the ability to do just that. While the property could be considered fantastic by any normal person, experiencing things through the eyes and ears of an apex predator was something else. Just knowing that, among the animals on the grounds, they were at the top of the food chain… it was just something else.

“It’s good to see that the zoo trip helped you a little,” he said as they were heading back to the school’s main building. “Your transition time is getting smoother. Do you think you’ll --” he stopped as something clattered to the ground nearby. He had been about to ask if Lily ever thought she’d be able to go from one beast form to another without having to return to her human form first - but that hadn’t happened.

Instead, he glanced to the side, noting the rather disheveled looking X-Man and the books scattered at his feet. Henry McCoy didn’t look disheveled because of carelessness. Kyler couldn’t imagine regrowing fur all over. He bent to retrieve the few books as the X-Man spoke. There was something he wanted to talk about with them, and Kyler immediately had a feeling that it wasn’t just by chance that the books had slipped out of the man’s grasp.

But, manners were required in this instance. If he ever chose to join the X-Men, being in good graces would help him out. He didn’t bother looking over at Lily, though. Hopefully she wouldn’t do anything… stupid. “Only thing this is keeping me from is a shower,” he said with a shrug.

Lily might have been outside everyday, weather permitting, but Sundays were mostly the only days she really trained on. Well, that's what she was calling it and that was mostly only because Lily didn't think most people would qualify running around with Kyler on four feet a date. Lily didn't either really, but that was alright since she still had a great time. There was just something about being able to connect with him, mind to mind, that really made their time spent together more than training. He was still teaching her of course, Lily was in the best shape of her life from it all.

Practicing was also improving her control over her changes, namely how fast she could slip into another shape. Bobcat was still the easiest and Lily had her time down to seven minutes from one form to the other. Going smaller was easier than going bigger, but Lily loved the cougar shape and being able to keep up with Kyler running. She was glad the stately old female had lingered on the grounds and Lily almost had her shape memorized.

"Ah think changin' inta th' different kinds o'cats expanded things like," Lily explained on their walk back. "Ah can remember th' mountain lion without havin' t'see her e'ryday." She told him happily and he mentioned the zoo trip they'd taken back at Christmas. Kyler stopped talking as a book clattered to the ground. Lily blinked at the slightly... Blue man with a multitude of books as Kyler handed one back. He had them all before she could bend to help him.

Lily returned the blue man's smile with one of her own as she tried to put a name to his face. Something with an M. He needed to speak to them? Lily blinked at him, looking puzzled but the redhead had a pretty good guess... But she wasn't going to let on to that. "Uh, okay..." Lily replied then her belly growled, "Ah gotta get a'shower an' get t' Ms. Rogue's fer breakfast tho." The southern Belle had Sunday gathering for her mentees and Lily almost every week.

She was also very glad she and Kyler had agreed to no PDAs or touching of any kind if it wasn't training. It made sense and also meant there wasn't anything for anyone to be able to catch them at. Lily didn't even hold his hand or walk to close whenever they came back from training.

Apart from a couple students walking the grounds, as well as one snoring at the opposite end of the gardens, this was as good a spot as any. His eyes turned back to the two before him; as much as he wanted to pull a Scott, raising his voice and pointing fingers, he felt as if he needed to approach the situation in a more civilized manner."I normally attempt to stray away from accusations and gossip, as it has no place in the mind of an intellectual, so in order to not be forthcoming in an accusing manner I must first ask the both of you what the situation was between you two in his living quarters not too long ago." Back and forth his eyes shifted, between Lily and Kyler, pausing on each momentarily to judge their words with their body language.

Seems like all three of them needed to bathe and Kyler found himself thankful that his wolf senses didn’t transfer over to his human form. They probably smelled pretty bad, gathered up like this. Lily even voiced that she had somewhere to be afterward, and Kyler only spared her the shortest of glances. One of the things that they had discussed in depth was that nothing was to change at all when they were out in public. Most of the time, if they were out doing things on the grounds, they could at least be safe most of the time. But if they were close to the school at all, then it was minimal contact at all times.

So when McCoy said that he’d overheard a conversation in Kyler’s apartment the other day, he had to resist the urge to say that he didn’t know what the X-Man was talking about. “She’s over quite a bit, so I’m not sure which one you’re talking about,” he said, choosing his words carefully. With his abilities, he knew that McCoy had probably heard some things, but then again… “Eavesdropping isn’t something I thought you would entertain, though,” he said, putting his thoughts into words.

She shifted bare toes in the cool grass under her feet. Lily had been warm enough while she and Kyler were moving, but standing still meant she was going to get cold faster than Kyler or Hank would. She'd shifted her weight to her heels and watched Mr... McSomthing with polite interest even if Lily was most interested in a shower and food at the moment. As always, whenever Lily stayed still outside, animals flocked to her as a handful of sparrows landed on her. They clung to her hair and clothes, peeping softly even as a couple began to preen her slightly sweaty hair. It was normal for her and Lily didn't bat an eye as Mr. McSomething went on about some sort of situation in Kyler's room.

It wasn't rocket science to guess what he was talking about, but Lily wasn't about to give it away if she could help it. One eyebrow arched as she glanced at Kyler, pretending to silently ask if he knew as he spoke first. Lily nodded in agreement, "He's been helpin' meh w'th gettin' better w'th mah powers." It had made sense for her to start training with Kyler more since their powers were so similar, the rest had sort of just happened. She glanced up at Kyler as he continued, blinking before narrowing her eyes at Mr. McSomthing and crossing her arms.

They hadn't done anything wrong. Lily firmly believed that without a shred of doubt and she would back Kyler up as best she could even as she wished she could read his mind now too. It would have made things so much easir to coordinate. Her frown was likely not as intemidating as Lily would have liked since she was only sixteen and currently had a small flock of sparrows clinging to her.

"Yes, you are correct, I don't typically take pleasure in dropping eves," the elder mutant stated, "but when the scent of an underage female student is strong in that of someone who is, for lack of better words, a guest on this campus, as well as the lingering nature of humidity from a fresh shower, one was...taken aback." Standing firm before the two, he waited for the silence to subside. He felt sorry for the current scenario, yet as the eldest of the staff members he knew that, no matter what actually occurred, sometimes appearances are much, much worse.

Lily didn’t lie, but Kyler’s gaze dropped to the ground when the X-Man started speaking. Kyler was well aware that he wasn’t associated with the X-Men as a team member, which apparently made him only a guest despite helping the school the only way he knew how. Financially.

Inhaling sharply, Kyler returned his attention to Hank. “That was my fault. I have been helping her with her powers, because I thought it was a good idea. I’m the oldest shifter here right now and I thought it’d be good for her to have someone like her to-” He wasn’t getting anywhere fast with this so he shifted gears. “I had just gotten out of the shower when she stopped by.”

Stick to the facts and nothing could go wrong, right? “I didn’t realize how it would look,” he offered with a shrug, giving Lily a quick glance.

Lily arched one eyebrow back at the older male, her answer was true and had been true for quite a while. Did he not believe her? Lily was a lot of things, but a liar was not one of them. Twist the true sometimes yeah, but not lie.

Her face colored as she realized what he was getting at, that was a reaction Lily couldn't help but she could make it look like it was from something else. She crossed her arms defensively and didn't look at Kyler as he talked, looking away out into the woods around them. "Ah... Wasn' thinkin' an' didn' knock..." Lily mumbled, glancing up at the teacher... McCoy his name finally came to her. "Ah hadn't thought a'thing o'it then... How it would look," It had been purely innocent when she'd dropped by and Lily hadn't thought a thing about letting herself into Kyler's apartment.

She looked away from Mr. McCoy then. Lily hadn't lied, just twisted things around and tried to look guilty about having made Kyler look bad. It wasn't really that hard since Lily did feel bad about that, she was just playing it up a bit.
